School Attendance Raffle

Did you know that missing two school days each month adds up to 10% of all school days over the year? That's the rate considered chronically absent. Each day a child is not in school is a missed opportunity to learn something they will need to understand more difficult material later. Poor attendance also has a huge influence on whether children read proficiently by the end of third grade.

Haverhill Promise is dedicated to supporting schools and families by developing solutions that will help reduce chronic absenteeism and ensure that students are in school every day getting the important reading instruction and intervention they need.

Thanks to the partnership of Haverhill Promise and generous sponsors, throughout the 2023-2024 school year, Haverhill Public Schools will be recognizing students who work hard to attend and support those students who are struggling. Thanks to Covanta, Pentucket Bank and Cedars Foods sponsorship, there will be giveaways and celebrations at every school all year.
