School Readiness Resources

The first five years of a child’s life is an important time. 90% of a child’s brain development happens before the age of 5. Beginning at birth, these brain connections form through a child’s everyday experiences with the adults around them. These experiences have an impact on their overall physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development and ultimately, prepare them for future learning and for life.

What is School Readiness?

School Readiness means all children are ready to start kindergarten and participate to the fullest of their ability. Every adult in a child’s life plays an important role in supporting their brain development and physical, social, and emotional well-being to be school ready.
